Regarding these proposals from higher up that are supposed to be taking place..........such as reduction in hours, pay rise etc. I've heard that the pay increase isn't actually an increase in current pay. Is this correct? I've been told that because staff are eventually cutting down to 35 hours, whilst staying on the same pay, this makes it equivalent to a pay rise??

Also, this is only for full time staff. I am part time (28 hours) Does anyone know what is happening to part time staff regarding this? Do we eventually cut our hours down and remain on the same pay, or does it just stay as is?

I've also heard that because of this pay increase, staff are going to receive a lump sum payment sometime soon, as the new terms are going to be back dated to October 2017 to probably April 2018 (when the new financial year starts) Is this correct?

Again, if so does anyone know what amount roughly part time staff would get from this? Or give me the numbers so i could try and work it out myself.

No doubt there is a link to this information somewhere. If someone could point me in the right direction id be very grateful.

Cheers

Hi . Part timers will receive the same 7% pay rise as the full timers . However since they do not reduce part time hours they will also receive 2 additional pay rises(When both of the S.W.W 's occur . These add up to 5.33%. In total they receive a 12.33 pay rise

As far as full time Postie's go I believe the backdated pay rise amount will be about 550 pounds plus more if have overtime etc. That is before deductions for tax and NIC of course. Personally with the amount of possible changes to working conditions I prefer to see the money as a bribe rather than a pay rise. What is a few hundred quid compared to having your life thrown into the dustbin.

thanks for the reply.

So has this definitely been confirmed or is it just in the pipeline? Are we (full timers/part timers) definitely getting a lump sum payment at some point in the near future regarding the new pay increase? Only reason i ask is that I'm planning on getting something with the cash but need to know whether we are definitely getting it first.

Cheers

you will definitely get it if there is a yes vote if a no vote everything is up in the air.

It's not a lump sum - it's a pay increase backdated to October 2017. If there is a yes vote it will be paid out in the new financial year so early April 2018. I recommend everyone reads the full proposal/agreement from the CWU/RM so you know what is on the cards and can make an educated decision. It is linked on this forum somewhere.
