"The progress and well-being of employees as individuals depends on the business being successful, but it is also very important that the touchstones of success truly reflect our human priorities and the contribution our employees make to a public service and society that is so highly valued by the people of the UK."

An excerpt from page 4 of the agreement.

What a load of drivel!

My well-being as an individual at work will not depend on RM being successful!

Nobody needs to be brainwashed into thinking that somehow if the business is not performing as well as Moya or Hedge fund managers would like, your health and well-being will suffer. It's not helpful.

As for the rest, no point in trying to push a left wing message when greedy capitalism is at the helm.

Sorry, rant over.

Agree. Much of the proposed agreement is complicated waffle, the crucial parts are surrounded by pretty words that mean little. There are some good bits in it, but the reps are going to have a diificult job selling this to anyone who has actually read it. A right turn off. The whole process has been a farce from start to finish.

Would we not be more able to for fill our human priorities and to public service and society without lapsing but of course management bonuses come before this and question it or don't have the time. What in this new agreement will protect you and your contentious stand or your just right too finish on time and that of family friendly don't think so 15:30 maybe the schools will pay the teachers an hour too babysit your kid's till you can pick them up!

Quote from ETX Capital (some sort of City Spread Betting firm) senior market analyst Neil Wilson in the Evening Standard:

“There is a clear winner here in getting unions to agree to effectively a cut in pensions but they’ve obviously had
to buy them off with a five per cent pay rise and reduction in working hours,”

Says it all really......

In section 3 of the Agreement there is going to be an independent body look into what is happening in offices and try and change the culture in the workplace. The scope of this review is still to be agreed.

Exactly. More 'reviews' which may never come to a conclusion, or if they do the agreements will be worded with 'usually' and wooly words that can be argued around by beligerent managers. There's too many reviews promised in the proposals, runs right through the document.

We should be voting on conclusions of previous reviews about these matters, not on reviews promised.

Didn't we have similar in all the other agreements, various workshops, forums, regular CWU/RM meetings, updates ect?
Nothing has changed, nothing will change, too many bad apples...on both sides who are getting away with murder.
I'm not moaning about this agreement, I'm moaning about nothing has changed over every agreement.

All this hashtag riseup bollox is exactly that...bollox.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I think the keyword in there Dingo is "try" which in the real world means bugger all will be done and like everything else B&H and culture related will get swept under the carpet. Nothing will ever change until the all those at the very top of the company admit there are issues and most importantly enforce every single correct working practise so DIM's LM's and such like can't continue to fudge everything to suit their own back pockets. Scrap bonus payments and then lets see how differently a Do is run.

Agree with Postman 100% nothing every gets done no matter what each agreement states.

"The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance"

When we get the official ballot dates we will put a poll up as per every ballot.
