Been told all day for several days by Posties and Residents that I should be using a Fire Brigade Drop Key, cos of doing a round full of flats: Should I?

Prob have to buy it and is it legal?

On th eplus, it would speed things up sooo muccchhhhhh.

They make life easier.
You need to be quite tall to use one.

I wouldn't take one even if Royal Mail produces them. What would happen if one of the flats was broken into? You could potentially be a suspect as you would access into the block when the tradesman button is off.

Would you be a suspect if one of the flats was burgled when the trade button was on?
Your PDA actuals would show how long you were in the area.

My point is that you would actually have a key to gain access, have the means to get it cut/cloned, while anybody else would have to buzz to get in when the Tradesman is off. As for the PDA, any Postman knows how to turn it off. The PDA would have no bearing on the matter whatsoever. Why put yourself in that situation?

My point is your point about being open to suspicion in the case of a burglary is childish nonsense.
Why would you clone a key that costs £3/4 quid on ebay? Anyone can buy one.
Going into the building might make you a suspect if the break in occurred while you were in the building. So what do you do? Not go in. Ever? Just in case?
And why would you turn the PDA off? (And I am not sure that stops the tracking anyway)
