The duty I'm covering next week hasn't had the d2ds done this week due to the duty holder going sick. Do i have to take them?

if instructed to do so yes. If no mention has been made then alert the manager and let them make the decision.

If instructed to take them obviously make it known to them it will have an impact on your ability to finish on time, unless you want the overtime of course..

You would think that the company whose leaflets they are should be asked their opinion. Not that I would advise anyone to do that, you'll probably get sacked but it's absolutely ridiculous that the business is allowed to get away with this.

What if a particular offer/promotion was only good for last week?
What if a company staffed up expecting increased interest last week?

If the manager doesn't know already that's embarrassing, if the manager knows and has done nothing to address the situation that's even more embarrassing. Someone going sick isn't an excuse to leave D2D, if the other mail streams were delivered why not the D2D?. Did the manager report the D2D failure? My arse he did. Some of these managers need to be cut loose from the business, they are taking the piss.

Possibly, but only if they didn't do them off their own back. If they were told not to do them then unless the manager forgets they gave the instruction they should be okay.

No d2ds must only be done that week as offers may not be available the following week see your rep first this sounds like a failure of staffing the office!

ahhh k979 im with you on that 1.....done that week....tillllll...
our d.o.m now says there done whenever...i.e like above not done due to sickness bla bla as long as the offer is still on LOL I asked do we open the envelope types to find if still in date...he said I was being awkward

We're constantly reminded that it's part of our workload now and attracts no extra payment,so one has to wonder why they weren't prepped with the other mail. I have seen people sacked for refusing to do D2D's that were found after a frame move and had nothing to do with them and who happened to be on leave the week they were due delivery. Proceed with caution.

Depends on who was meant to prep them. If a part timer turns up at 9:30 and packs his bags and leaves, it's hardly wilful delay on his part.

The person who prepped the duty should have prepped them. unless told otherwise.
