I imagine when you took that job the working hours suited you. A lot of people on delivery actually do the job because the hours suit other commitments. Now they are changing the hours.

Bully for you. Many delivery staff took the job precisely because of early starts and early finishes for a variety of reasons, including picking up small children from school. Did you choose to work until 9-10 o'clock at night while being a single parent with small children and no other relatives that could pick those children up?

Don't worry there's lots more of us who work in deliveries so if we decide the deals no good for us we can vote no and stop it. You better hope you don't get a crappy deal at the expense of a good one for deliveries one day because you couldn't stop it

Don't worry there's lots more of us who work in deliveries so if we decide the deals no good for us we can vote no and stop it. You better hope you don't get a crappy deal at the expense of a good one for deliveries one day because you couldn't stop it

DO staff outnumber MC by around 2:1 so it in effect doesn't matter what MC and other staff think. For any deal good or bad, it gets voted in or out by DO staff

To be fair, when I started the job the hrs suited me too, finished by 11am on a busy day. Times have changed and so has the business. Either you adapt or find another job that does suit your needs. It's life. Finishing now at 2 30- 3pm on a Saturday sucks, when it used to be 10.30am but like I say, if you don't like it move on. Rarely does anything in life stay the same.

it might sound a bit of a daft question so am I right that r/m want a 15.30 finish nationally ? so would that means that offices ( ours inc ) that do longs and shorts will stop ? as at the moment our start times are Mon 7 - 14.45 , Tues 7.30 - 14.00 , Weds , Thurs , Fri 6.30 - 14.55 , Sat 7 - 14.20 , so would the new start times for a 15.30 finish be 7.42 - 15.30 for a 39hr week , so if this new agreement gets voted it in they would change again in Oct to 7.54 - 15.30 for a 38hr week and so on , I think these are one of the points cwu need to be telling us and not just the 5% pay increase.

I believe it will all depend on your LAT for the 30 mins

cheers , I would sooner have a set start and finish time , as the farce of these longs and shorts don't work and never have done since they got brought in , another failed r/m idea .

You will need to check whether your office is one of the 1023 offices who won’t seen any change to duty times from the LAT product or if your one of the 123 who will see between 1 minute up to 15 or whether your one of 70 who will be 16mins up to 30 mins or whether your one of the 70 Offices who are capped at 30 mins.

Remember the extension to 15:30 does not mean every moves later or too 15:30 it will be based on the above and the information will be out there in the next couple of weeks.

Obviously you will have to take the hour off the working week in October which for a 5 day week may mean starting 12 mins later per day.
