If people are struggling to do their rounds at the moment , are we expected to do the same work for less hours ?

Why don't people understand all you have to do is work your contractual hours!!!! Yes we will most likely have to do the same, if not more, amount of work but OT is compulsory and no one can force you to work over!!! Don't let management bully you into work over your time if you don't want to or can't!!!

Royal Mail will be pushing for more automation/less manual indoor work which will free up more hours for outdoors. A shorter worker week, in essence, cancels this out.

Pushing for more automation should include proper clock in / clock out machines so we don’t have to rely on managers getting our wages correct.

Those runners will be getting paid for the hrs they work when 2 hrs are lopped off the working week. Not before time I say.

The idea is it protects full-timers from job losses against automation, fair enough. It worries me how open Royal Mail were to the idea though, the pension reform and pay deal have been like pulling teeth; they never really objected to this. Never a good sign in my opinion.

Reading between the lines it has been covered in the agreement under various disguises such as Data Capture, inventive duties and working all paid hours. In essence, the PDA will become a clocking in machine, at least that's how I read it.

What sort of information? We're aware of them tracking our walking speed, location etc, anything else?

Time starting, time finishing, type of outdoor work, type of indoor work (though with location by GPS and 4G they know now anyway).
