duty resign

ok here we go
signed for a new duty start of november as fed up being messed around by mgmt
keep asking when i will be put on new duty
dom answer all the time "havn,t got round to it yet"
reps keep asking
5 others waiting to be put on new duties as well
i have over 25yrs service and 1st on seniority list
now heard the reason i havnt been put on duty is im not flexible enough
ie, i usually work to time and duty i signed for is 10-12 miles away from office and
low and behold travelling time not been built into duty
can the mgmt refuse my duty signing on grounds im not prepared to do overtime

Still being messed about after 25yrs ! glad I'm not at your office I was hoping to get my own walk before I'm 70 !

1) Flexabillity of 30 mins on a swings and roundabout basis may be difficult to apply to signed duty and you would be able to judge if you can recover your time back on less busy days unless you are adamant that you wish to stick to your rigid start/finish times.
There is also the commencing of the reduction of hours to our working week to be considered when the current bargaining on the 4 pillars result is favourable on our behalf.
2) The mgmt would have made up the " 318" work content for this duty and passed to CWU for their approval before display to the workforce and the ommission of the travelling time not incorporated into the start/finish times should have been queried and an amendment requested.
3) You have on signing for this duty in November have opted to accept as per the "318" content and this failure not to include the travelling time in the duty must be a new mgmt strategy to get the most from your working day and this loophole should have been plugged at the start.
4) Travelling time is part of the duty content and your rep should be presenting the "318" to mgmt pointing out their error and have duty restructered to fsaciltate travelling time.
5) Flexabilty is voluntary when it is convenient to both parties and your decision not to work overtime should not effect you for signing for a duty and you need to take this to area rep and push for (4) As you are nr.1 on the seniority list any alteration would not have a knock on effect to other duties.
