Confused about sick leave

Hi all,

Im new to the forums sorrry if this isnt the correct place to post this but just wanted to clear something up.

Is it true that after a stage 1 you then have to wait 6 months for it to clear? Because i took 4 days off in sept 2017 and currently having another 3. In feb that would mean i would of had a total of 7 days (2 seperate weeks) therefore not flagging up as a stage 1. Does that mean it will still clear in feb?

Sorry if it sounds confusing but only asking as i dont often go sick.

No I don’t think so. It only clears after a clear 6 months

No it's a bit confusing but you are allowed to have up to 13 days sick using no more than 3 separate abscences. So as it stands right now you could still take 6 more days sick before sept 18 and still not trigger a stage 1 . Once sept 18 has passed your sickness from sept 17 will no longer count towards your yearly total as a full year would have passed .

Wow so you can have 26 days off each year with no comebacks who would be an employer.

No read it again you can have 13 days or 3 abscences in a 12 month period without triggering a stage.

From when the stage is issued

The 12 month period is continuously rolling.
Any breach of standards in any 12 month period will trigger a stage 1, as pointed out after the 1st stage the time starts when the stage is issued, not when the absence triggers a review. Members should keep a diary, "I thought I was clear" is something I hear a lot.
