Yes it's all under the "operational needs" get out clause where basically they can change what they like whenever they like. Although they do need to give you notice and I believe if you have plans that cannot be changed they should honour your original day off!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

What reason are they giving you? Is it only YOUR day off that is being changed? What does your rep say?
"A third of the world's farmland is now useless due to soil degradation, yet we still keep producing mouths to feed. And what's you answer to that? Energy saving lightbulbs?"

Hello everyone, may I just ask a question?
Our office had a complete revision & repick of duties about six months ago. The DOM has now realised that duties with Saturdays off are hard to cover. The intention is to change staff with Saturdays off to offer them another day. Does anyone know if this DOM can do this ?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

No it’s everone with a Saturday off as after a revision & repick the managers have realised that people who have chosen Saturday off want the day off and not work it on overtime thus they have trouble covering duties but surely Saturday is classed as a normal working day and it was the planning team that offered the number of Saturdays to choose from.

No, they can propose it to the Union who can ask the membership.Bluenose wrote:Can Royal Mail force individuals who are full time & have a set day off be made to change their day off ?
They could try to impose it but the rep has the Industrial Relations Framework to knock it back as far as to getting mediators in. The mediators at least on the CWU side would hopefully point out that it goes against the spirit of various agreements.
