Multi bundle system

Does anybody know the situation with the multi bundle system that RM proposed ? Havnt seen it mentioned in recent talks?

the last I heard it was a big fat no from cwu due to h&s , and Canada post has now stopped this as well now and I wonder why ?

How would carrying more than one bundle force people to use the correct equipment?
If anything I think they would be more likely to dump the trolley and use a bag.

it would as the sequenced mail would be in a tray and wouldn't be put in your frame , and the tray would be put on a new design lwt , so the runners wouldn't be runners anymore as they will have to use a trolley , oh dear

I have no idea how it's meant to work, but I struggle with one bundle, two packets and the PDA. I was in that situation numerous times today on doorsteps.

And thats why if its trialled itll be dumped quicker than world class mail, they wont want everyone slowing down and causing overtime and cut offs to rocket. It will end up being a return to bags on shoulder but with smaller bags and loops split down

back to carrying bags ? I haven't carried a bag for over 7 years since we went to p&l , use lwt everyday every loop so that's one thing I wont be doing is carrying bags .

No one in my DO uses a trolley.

Why?

Because using a trolley was sending people over their time everyday by up to 2 hours in some cases. We were told by the union rep to book the overtime and Royal Mail will have to look at the duties and make them smaller. What a absolute load of cobblers! That was over 5 years ago and not one duty was revised.

So everyone just stopped using trolleys.

Here is a good idea - introduce working practises and equipment that work in the first place and people might actually be inclined to use them!!!!

If a trolley makes you have to cut off then cut off. You’ll only be complaining when you have back issues

Awesome penguin. Well your have just played into RM hands. 2 hrs each day then they would have revised the duties. And if you don't want the overtime then cut off. Your Dom must be sitting back laughing drinking his coffee when he or she watches your troop out the door with your wallets. Unbelievable.

Our biggest mistake was to allow the use of planning tools like Pegasus while trying to introduce new delivery methods. I don't really blame members for giving up on trolleys. In a lot of cases they're not suitable anyway due to terrain and types of housing, the jury is out on whether they're any better from a musculoskeletal point of view and in most cases members have split loops down to the point where a trolley is pointless and they're carrying less than 5kg.

A trolley will not add 2 hrs onto a duty, poor planning will so I'm not sure how bleating on about the correct use of equipment would have made much if any difference to whether the duties were revised.

No they have not revised the duties despite people persevering with the trolleys for months! Please read posts properly before responding.
