How does your office allocate Christmas leave any ideas on this please to insure its done on fair basis for everyone in the office .

Week between Christmas and new year names go into a hat. Rep selects names from the hat, people who don’t get it one year are almost certain to get it the following year

Holidays are allocated via seniority in our DO. One year it goes top to bottom,bottom to top then top to bottom. Next year it goes from bottom to top, top to bottom, then bottom to top.

To be fair if you was a manager who would you sort out with the days off? Someone who does overtime and probably helps you out when theres stuff to cover or the person who causes the stuff that needs covering and grief everyday? Not saying its right but i can see why managers would think that way

to be fair I would do names in the hat like our place we have been doing it for years lads and girls who got it last time name doesn't go in and to be honest the cut off crew am thinking DO THE JOB PROPERLY work to time

In our office no one can book A/L between the last week of November and Christmas day, i thought this was the same in every office?

Previous manager always claimed a names in a hat system was used and amazingly the same creeps, favourites and teachers pet always always managed to come out of the hat every year.

Current manager doesn't divulge his critrea but the same people as above have been allocated for the two years he has been with us.
