Busy?

Hi I have done over 20 years at Royal mail do people think it's just as busy as say two years ago?.Not so many cards?parcels on course for 138 million? In December.

Massively more packets. Definitely fewer cards (though some addresses still obviously get loads).

Seems the same as last year to me except loads more small fiddly packets with hard to read addresses on from china.

easiest xmas ever
cards well down and packets busy but nowhere near what was imagined
busy enough to cut off and return to office on time
ot been dramatically cut
no s/a
no ivo or ovo
no sun ips
nights reduced
no working day off
pt being made uo to ft over pressure weeks has killed most ot for ft
so basically working to time 1/2hr or 1 hr no good
maybe 4-5hrs ext no f**k it not worth the hastle
would rather take it easy and laugh at the carnage of peeps trying to grab whatevers going

Packets are rammed but I just chuck them out. Cards are through the roof on my walk. They just keep coming.

Busy as f**k. Quiet mon and tues then all hell broke loose today. Like last year the parcels started coming in early November the result being more parcels over a longer period.

Ditto on the twenty years service. Years ago when we had bike rounds and used to weigh each mail pouch of mail we had some accurate idea on the amount of mail we were delivering. Nowadays it's very hard to judge and the figures given out by RM are not to be trusted. Even our DOM has found their figures to be out by as much as fifty percent.
It does seem at the moment that cards are down and Parcels have increased by quite a lot. But after two days without being able to deliver due to one day of snow and one of ice we have loads of mail backed up on-site. The post boxes seem to be full of cards so I think the large amounts of cards are yet to hit us. It's another last minute Christmas methinks. We are going to work on Sunday as well this week I think to try and clear our parcel backlog. Didn't get back from delivery til 1630 excluding breaks for which there wasn't time to take. Another day in RM land.......

Really Busy Xmas. Mail Centre failed and work arrived late into DO today

Went overtime and still bought some mail back. Got home and had to lay on bed for twenty minutes before removing uniform

Had tea/dinner and fell asleep for an hour now up and bright and breezy. It all happens over again tomorrow

Absolutely the same, hope it eases off next week, I'm only in my 50's but just feel like I'm getting too old for this !

Whenever Xmas falls at the end of the week cards always seem to be sent later as people seem to think they have more time to send them.
