A question about Ill Health Retirement on behalf of a colleague who currently can't use the internet ;
She understands that IHR usually involves a lump sum or a pension but might it be both if the retirement is from an accident at work and / or if she has no prospect of ever working again ?
Thanks in advance for any answer(s).

If she is given ‘IHR with immediate payment of pension’ she will I assume, be able to give up some of her pension(Section C) to gain a lump sum. Or if she’s in Section B, she should get a lump sum anyway.
It’s not possible to get both IHR with pension and IHR with lump sum(34 weeks pay+PILON).
