Taken off duty?

I've been on a shared duty for over 4 years now and at constant loggerheads with my manager about me not being prepared to work overtime,yesterday i was threatened with being taken off my duty as i had said if it was as busy next week as it was this then i was leaving all the parcels behind(i've been leaving half of them behind some of the week and still going over).What had wound me up was we have parcel relief BUT the the two guys doing it were still going home an hour before their finish times and im just expected to stay out and work over,at first i said fine put me on another duty as it will make no difference as i will just do the hours and cut off but then i changed my mind and said i would ring the union first thing Monday and see what they have to say about it(we have no union rep in our office).

So the question is can i be taken off my duty?Cheers.

It's not for you to say "if it was as busy next week as it was this then i was leaving all the parcels behind" but that if it was as busy next week what does he want you to do ?

Same thing happened in our office last year, a number of staff didn't want to work over there contracted hours which is understandable especially this time of year. Our area rep explained our contract states we are contracted to work in the Delivery Office, not on a specific walk !! therefore for operational necessity they are quite within their rights to remove you from your duty for a temporary period and re-employ you on a duty which enables them to pick up the excess from your round when you cut off. However you are NOT obliged to work overtime even in the middle of the Christmas pressure period. What ever duty they employ you on, don't rush, start on time, take your proper meal relief, follow the correct cut off procedure, go home on your official finishing time. Don't get stressed it is there problem not yours. Good Luck.

It's their standard bullying technique I'm afraid to say, the next level is to threaten you that they'll get your walk prepped instead of you doing it but you have to start later to enable you to have time to deliver it fully, bunch of tw@ts !!

Your office should be up in arms that they have moved you off your singed for round just because you won't go over, shocking.
What was the rational behind the operational needs reason for moving you.
If they get away with this sort of thing they will be doing it to everyone.
