Yes but you have to make a reasonable attempt to attend your place of work or failing that the nearest available RM premises.

I did this I few years ago before , the village I live in was cut off so I walked up to the sub office and contacted my actual office , sat around drinking coffee for a bit and then was allowed to go home as the lorries were not running from the mail centre , felt sorry for the posties in the sub office though as their manager made them stay till their finish time.

think im right but...being sent home by the screws is a lot different than going home....
somewere on the lines of they can have you working more when the snow clears...

sooo ive always been happy to spend my time at work indoors in the snow till my finish time

Heavy snow in mid/south Buckinghamshire today/now. Heavy snow in Biggleswade too today apparently.

Hands up who also has lots of snow today ?? :sad:

They can’t make you go over once the snow clears
Depends on the terms they let you go home on. If deliveries are cancelled they'll attempt to recoup lost hours later in the week or get you to take it out of annual leave. Best to remain in the office for your hours until they dismiss you without strings attached.

If they let u go home early they cant recoup it as as annual leave.

that's what I meant....if u ask to go home early your opening your self up to some kind of claw back of the hours.
if the d.o.m sends you home that's different no extra hours recouped

No I hate it either way is rubbish....if we work it’s gonna be hell if we don’t the backlog will be so heavy it will be extremely difficult to catch up
