Pay Offer for 2017/18 and 2018/19
Will we get the 2.65% basic pay rise for 2017/18 paid on our basic pay from the date of the signed agreement when Royal Mail pay the £550 lump sum payment on the date of the Agreement in recompense . Is this a one off payment for the 2.65% pay rise for 2017/18 which will not go on your basic pay and only receive the 2% basic pay rise for 2018/19 only.

2% is a miserly sum for the 1/4/2018 award. With inflation in excess of 3% this means real terms earnings are eroded yet again.

I agree, but there is the hour off the working week from October to factor in as well.Lincox wrote:2% is a miserly sum for the 1/4/2018 award. With inflation in excess of 3% this means real terms earnings are eroded yet again.

But as with RM will not be factored in let's not look for short term answers to long term problems we need an agreement fit for the future not for the passed and present probably looking at a 3 to 5 year deal here the future is up in the air at the moment. And we must fight for that future and not take manky carrots even a donkey would not eat some people on here would sell their own mothers for £550 and be off to ladbrokes to spend it on two fly's crawling up the wall!claretandblue wrote:I agree, but there is the hour off the working week from October to factor in as well.Lincox wrote:2% is a miserly sum for the 1/4/2018 award. Wow one hour off the working week...so they’ll get rid of work time learning and that’ll be it! Sure as hell won’t be making any duties smaller, will just make us start 12 minutes later and expect it all to be done

Exactly. Royal Mail know this. The wage increase will be nothing compared to inflation so it's not even worth talking about. What is more serious is any/all potential changes to the actual job. Just view any additional money as a bribe.
