going into these talks, do you think it would be a good idea, for the CWU to use the things on here as an example to flag up the problems that crop up day after day on here!!! would royal mail bury their head in the sand and say, "there's no problem, it's not happening" or would the union, be able to hammer home, just what is happening on delivery on a daily basis???? by putting on a power point of examples of the way it's members are treated by incompetent managers!!!

Royal Mail are probably well aware of the issues and don't care.

Unfortunately we are well down their list of priorities given that they have a board of directors and a whole load of investors to answer to.

Most forward thinking companies have the philosophy that you need your staff/workforce on board to run a successful business, Royal Mail do not subscribe to this.

More likely dismissed as those "squeaky wheels" present in any large organisation, and hence to be ignored as inveterate whingers.

Managers are very aware of this site, it's the internet after all, some of them do join up masquerading as posties, a few posties on this site have into trouble for post made.

As to the issues they are fully aware as managers talk to each other in area conference talks.

The mediator has seemingly sided with RM on all the main issues. There is a reasonable pay increase being offered but you could be forgiven for viewing that as a bribe given the rest of the stuff RM wish to implement. RM must know how they are running the business and that a lot of work is being done unpaid. If they can get away with it, and they probably will continue to do so, then things will steadily get worse. If the amount of Parcels we as a business get to deliver continues to increase on year as predicted eventually something will have to give. In the end it won't be physically possible to complete the delivery each day. Deliveries will have to be reworked, many more staff taken on and infrastructure increased. RM says our business is in decline but other respected entities like Hargreaves Lansdowne etc say the complete opposite. We just have to wait for the s*** to hit the fan. It may be just over the horizon.

I wouldn't say militant nor loonies. I prefer to think of us/myself to be radical. Words are often badly attributed such as referring to people like Islamic State as radical which is a insult to the word. Another word that is often badly attributed by dodgy business types and politicians is 'sustainable'.
