So, if you have to redeliver a 1pm special the next day, has it got to be there by one?,or can it be delivered later?
I married my wife for her looks, but not the one she gave me when i said i was going to be a postman.

Operationally: It will show as a failure and the DOM will be alerted.

However, the service has already been provided so there is no issue for the customer or customer services if it's delivered after 1 pm.

So if you don't want the DOM bending your ear because he doesn't check the tracking, deliver it before 1pm.

I’m not disputing your wisdom TBT, but at our office, a redelivery of a 1pm special is not required to be delivered before 1. In fact on Saturdays, if a special 1pm is not an SG (saturday guaranteed), it doesn’t matter if it’s delivered after 1 because the sender has not payed the extra for the Saturday service. The DOM has never questioned anyone about this. Maybe we just have a very chilled out DOM.

Plaguelift - our local policy on redelivery is same as yours. Thought the SG thing was a national policy.

Question on the same theme:

If you are working in an postcode area where 9AM Specials are not guaranteed for delivery for 9AM, do they have to be delivered by 1PM?

I don’t know the rules regarding a late 9am, but if it happens in our office the duty holder has to go out and deliver the 9am as soon as it comes in, even though it has already failed.
