Sickness and contract pay

This means I'm still being paid for 16 hours instead of 27 and having a 3 month old baby, it's put a lot of strain on things at home, culminating in time off work 'sick'. It's been put down to stress by the GP but that's bottling things up even from her. I'm not ashamed to admit that signs point to depression and to be honest that's the way I'm feeling and I think the fact that they aren't paying me my correct pay is a big factor(there are other things going on at home so that's not the sole blame)
I assume I'll be put on a stage now I've returned though...
You seem to have let your non-payment of your additional hours drag on for sometime which has now caused the current situation you are in. Why was you not given the opportunity to claim the balance of 11 hours by o/T docket until your new contract was finalised. The DOM must have known that you were completing 27 hours work and not getting paid for it. Assuming you are a union member why have you not made your union rep aware of this situation because if you had this would have been sorted by now.
If you are still off sick still contact your rep to get your outstanding payments actioned
Don't wait for it to happen make it happen.

A follow on from my posting were you showing to your DOM your wage slip that you were only being paid for 16 hours.?

Are you really saying that you have been working 27 hours and only paid for 16 since the beginning of this year? I cannot believe that anyone would work for less than minimum wage which in effect you have been doing if that is the case.

I've been told a few times they're going to sort it and I guess not wanting to cause much disturbance at the start followed by a lot of time off meant I haven't pursued it. Money wasn't an issue until the last few months at which time paternity has began and the Mrs was off on maternity

Tomorrow get your union rep to accompany you to the delivery managers office and politely ask him to phone HR Services in front of you and your rep to have your contract made up to 27 hours and when you will receive your back dated monies.

If backdated do I lose out because of tax or does it all even out? Probably a daft question

You'll pay the same tax on it as you would have done if you had received it normally. It will look like a big hit because it's in one go, but you will not pay any more tax than what is due (in most circumstances).

It would be nice jd9442 if you could post the outcome.
Many times colleagues post on this site giving details of their particular predicament with RM in search of advice and looking for information to assist and receive a wide scope of replies from union reps and colleagues who have previously had experienced that particular problem and passed on the knowledge to assist.
However only a few let us know the final result and it would be satisfying to us all if we received some feedback that the advice given has resulted in a satisfactory conclusion to our colleagues.

Sickness and contract pay

Have attempted to get my contract sorted with the manager and rep in office.
The solution is currently to add 11 hours overtime on the sheet during the week to bump my hours up to 27.
No word on backdated pay and when I questioned when my contract is going to be updated was told 'could be a while yet as it needs to be authorised through my manager' by my DOM

I would be very concerned about adding unworked overtime to the overtime sheets. Who is going to back you up if those hours are questioned by someone higher than the DOM. It certainly wont be the DOM or your Line Manager and very much doubt the union rep would add his/her support.
