Overtime pay

Ive been in the job for 4 months and cant get a straight answer from my dom but Is all overtime pay the same? Or do you different rate depending on the time .

Three different rates I believe. First is applied up to 39 total hours worked for the week, then for 10 hours above that and then anything else.

If you are part time the hours between your contract and 39 hours are paid at one rate - it appears as SSPR on your pay slip.
This is your basic pay rate plus 65p/hour (approx.) to include the Delivery Supplement.

The first 10 hours after 39 (39 - 49) are paid at a different rate.
After 49 hours it drops slightly up to 69 hours. This is the maximum number of hours you can work in one week. (except maybe at xmas)

There is also something called Scheduled Attendance overtime (which is supposed to be contractual overtime) which is paid at a slightly higher rate and will also be paid when you are on holiday.

Scheduled attendance rate is better as it stays at the same amount for every hour. With the standard overtime rate after 10 hours the amount they give you per hour drops. Our DOM has arranged for scheduled rate for all the Christmas pressure this year so that is better. More sorters needed early but everyone is p***** off so not a high take up from us on that overtime this year.
