final reason to Vote “Noâ€

3...Pensions

CWU leaders are making it out to be a big victory that there will be legal consultation over pensions, and working groups will produce national
agreements on D2D and other changes by April 2008.
But the opposite is true.
Now is when we are at our strongest, when the threat of strike action still hangs over Royal Mail. Royal Mail has announced that it is intends to close the final salary pension scheme for a career average one, and it wants to raise the retirement age to 65. It has even set a start date for the new scheme: 1 April 2008. So much for “consultationâ€
