Walk holder swapping loops

Situation:
Walk holder/driver has swapped loops designated to them in the planning stage. They have one loop that can't be split into smaller bags and have palmed it off onto the walker. I understand that the drivers loops were designed to be smaller so they could deliver parcels but seeing as they only deliver their own parcels whilst the walker uses a trolley I think they're taking the f***ing piss to be frank. Also he's a boss' pet and rarely goes over so ends justify the means as far as they are concerned when someone complains.

Opinions?

I know of many walkers who absolutely insist on NOT using a trolley for this reason - so they don't take any large and medium parcels!!

Only the first loop of the drivers side should be shorter, this enables the driver to deliver ALL oversized packets. No packets should be tied to a trolley with any type of rope for security .

What matters is that you both work on reasonably equal 'loops' in terms of time, and thus return to the van within a minute or two of each other surely? That is the most efficient and fair way of working. Whether you do parcels and letters, just letters, just parcels at any particular time matters not as long as you are both working to the same aim. The ladies and gentlemen who sit around in the van when you are still finishing off are (a) not working efficiently and (b) taking the p**s, providing you are not on your phone or chatting away for hours to Mr and Mrs Smith/Jones.

The partner system does not work with everybody, some people cannot work with others and it is an inferior system to working individually. It has cost RM a lot of money, but they have failed to realise.

Really? If that’s the case, my partner would have been waiting round for 1-2 hours today if I’d have done the oversize like you describe. Or did you mean to write ‘all oversize items for them 2 loops’?

Van sharing has not worked full stop, a massive mistake by RM which has cost a fortune

I'm sure we've all heard horror stories concerning both parties taking the piss in van shares? I'm glad I'm not in a van share because they never seem to work very well.

My friends partner insists on not using the LWT, and only carrying a bag. You'd think the DOM would be all over him because of working practices but he isn't.

So this guy is "Unable" to carry any packets larger than a DVD and leaves them for my friend (the Driver) to deliver.

You might say tell him to do one, but my friend relies on this guy to give him a lift in every morning. So he's over a barrel on this. I said, "It would be worth buying a cheap car and driving yourself in, then you could tell him to stop being a lazy bastard"!

Same with my partner. I just load every parcel possible on the trolley and stroll around. No time to deliver his parcels.

I think some "Non-Trolley Users" would be amazed at how many packets you can actually carry on a LWT. I tend to use a bag on one side for packets, the bag on the other side for bundles of letters and often bungee a few larger ones on the top.

You could deliver a fairly large village near us with just 3 loops of a LWT (using the van to resupply). Admittedly the van had to do a few really large parcels. It just seems some Posties are always looking for ways to off load work onto their colleagues, I find it hard to accept their attitude.

As a driver I recon I drive to an address to deliver a parcel about once a month.

I had to the other day I had a sack trolley to deliver FFS, and someone had ordered a couple of duvets (that came in a box that took up literally a quarter of the rear load space!
