you cant stream and lapse, the two cannot go together, the only reason, you can lapse, is when, time is available on your duty, the very fact, that your manager is telling you to stream, tells you, that there is no time available for you to lapse! ask him how the hell you can, both stream and lapse, it's like night and day, the two cannot go together!!!

Mail MUST not be streamed . REPORT your manager to your rep or via intouchfeedback for this breach of our licence.
http://www.cwuclevelandamal.org/documen ... -stand.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Required Standards and Key Points
1. Royal Mail is required to deliver to every UK address each working day (Monday to Saturday) this
includes letters and parcels.
2. All mail due service on any given day must be delivered. There are no exceptions, ceilings or
tolerance limits to mail volumes.
• If a managerial decision is taken to fail mail at any stage of the delivery operation, then mail
should not be streamed e.g. extracting 1c to connect with delivery, as USO relates to all mail at the
DO and should be reported accordingly.
• Other than where a managerial decision has been made for operational reasons, mail that is
deliberately withheld, streamed or manipulated so that delivery is not carried out that day, could be
construed as bringing the integrity and honesty of Royal Mail or an individual into question, and the
conduct code may be applied.
• Mail from other operators i.e. DSA Mail must be afforded the same service standards as mail
handled through our own network. We must not prioritise Royal Mail traffic above a DSA customer.
• The DOM (or deputy if the DOM is not present on the day in question) is accountable for the
figures reported daily; even where DODR input is delegated, and every item of mail that has failed
must be accounted for.

send an email with photos to HQ and also send an email to Moya on just sayit ., and ask her is this the way you or whoever runs the company now , streaming mail do our customers want this , and I can tell you it wont happen again and the dim will get his arse kicked , the dim can stand mail down on ips but once mail is in the frame it becomes live mail for delivery and its wilful delay on your dims behalf , and I think your rep needs to inform him so as well , they cant do it
, good luck.

Think there is a email going round from Sue Whalley ( think that’s how you spell it) that the reps in the office “can” take pictures and email them to the area reps.scoobymunster wrote:Email yes, photographing mail DEFINITELY NOT.worktotime wrote:send an email with photos to HQ and also send an email to Moya on just sayit ., and ask her is this the way you or whoever runs the company now , streaming mail do our customers want this , and I can tell you it wont happen again and the dim will get his arse kicked , the dim can stand mail down on ips but once mail is in the frame it becomes live mail for delivery and its wilful delay on your dims behalf , and I think your rep needs to inform him so as well , they cant do it, good luck.

Streaming mail is a sackable offence and I’m pretty sure that taking photos will get you in hot water, if not sacked, too. You need to contact the union at a higher level than your local rep. They will advise you how to approach your situation. Good luck.

“Thanks for this, as with the other information you are providing I will send to the local teams for investigation and comment and I am also including the quality team so they can check reporting and USO compliance
The CWU have been challenged to provide facts rather than anecdotal evidence including the use of photos so I see no issue with this approach.”

When we are struggling to get all the sorting done they call time occasionally.
So Where do yorks of magazines not sorted but left until tomorrow's ips fit into this, or even put onto the ips tables while we are out on delivery for next day.
Is this allowed, long as reported on dodr?

Are you aware of the Over-Running Procedure UHC? We use it on a BIG Rural in my DO. You can probably find fuller explanations by searching the forums, but basically you need to tell your DOM that you intend to finish at the end of your contracted hours (no need to provide reasons). This also includes your Meal Relief. Tell him before you bundle up as he should visit your frame and check how much mail you have, (also stops him from saying, "Well it's all bundled up now I can't tell how many calls you have).unhappyCumbria wrote:I am told daily to stream DSA and 2nd Class mail to complete my rural delivery.
I don't want to work past my time, I usually end up booking my break and "streaming" as directed.
I have been told I can't leave mail in and can't bring mail back and told to simply stream.
The duty is too big
Ask him what he wants you to do? It's his decision you can't dictate, but perhaps suggest that you could leave the top row (or however much you estimate will take you over) and he could ask if anyone wants to do it on overtime, again His responsibility to find someone Not yours . In theory because you are "Cutting Off" (as it's often referred to) due to time you don't have any time to lapse. Although I have known DOMs say, "Well you'll have to take the lapsing".
I know it can all get a bit childish but this is the type of Management we all have to deal with. Once you've done it a few times he may realise you're serious and do something about it. (Highly unlikely at this time of the year though). The main thing is NOT TO GET STRESSED, it's his problem NOT yours. I know no one else in the Office probably gives a shite because they're OK but you just need to look after your own mental health. I've been there so know how you feel. The last Duty holder on this particular Duty took early retirement simply because he was a "Nice Guy", took it all personally, tried to complete every day and basically burnt himself out. Good Luck.
Like all Wage Slaves, he had two crosses to bear: The people he worked for and the people he worked with! (Stephen Vizinczey.)

Whenever we use over running procedure and tell DOM that we intend to finish at end of hours he will ALWAYS ask for a reason why.Dorset Plodder wrote:
