CWU Area Reps.

What's the current situation regarding the Area Reps?
Been hearing some alarming things recently.

E.g. Christmas Arrangements
RM refusing/ not wanting to recognise them....

Ours are still in action, although they were being put in the spotlight for removal by RM, obviously seen as a nuisance so they must be doing a good job.

Royal Mail backed down in London and there is now a Divisional Christmas Agreement and the Area Reps and OPS managers are now engaging on the hours per unit and assisting local units to reach and agreement.

I'm aware that its not true of all CWU reps but I have seen in the past Royal Mail DOMs who will try and bend Unit reps into signing daft agreements or at least try and get them onside that are to the detriment of everyone else on the shop floor. Banking of hours springs to mind here...

I'm suspecting that these DOMs cannot do this with Area Reps because they closely bide with National agreements?

to scared to let the rest of membership know

Hardly ever see ours, which frankly is a blessing.
Agrees with management all the time when he does come.
