Ill health retirement question

Hi all, i have been off for nearing 6 months with a damaged shoulder. Since the beginning of the year i was suffering with paint which got worse. After seeing the GP i eventually had to go sick and seek Physio. My therapist suspected a tear in my socket and requested more sessions but IPRS refused, then it was rapped up to which OH Assist never contacted me but wrote up a report saying ill be fit in no time when i wasnt.

I had no choice but to seek an MRI which showed up the tear with a cyst. After 6 months past with the physio..getting a MRI i then got to see the doctor who also thinks i have damage else where and offered a injection as a test to prove this theory which could last from 3 months to 3 years. Great. (NOT) and thinks my tear isnt the cause after a 2-3min physical test.

I refused the injection due the time it will waste for me and will probably get the sack at that point and im seeking a 2nd opinion, as a injection is not going to cure squat and is just wasting my time. I want it fixed so i can get back to normal and now have to seek private surgery becuase the NHS seems to be taking for ever and not wanting to offer a proper fix time wise. Which ill have to get a loan on 5k. Great, just as christmas is here :(

I have a OH call coming up and besides giving them correct honest info, After their last report i dont trust them...ive been threatened with possible Ill health. Even though with surgery ive been told you always get back to normal with shoulders. So how can ill health be a possibility? What if i went with the NHS and went past 6 months, am i liable to loose my job. And what if they offer ill health.

Im all lost with this and have been with the business over 5 years and never been through anything like this. Thanks

Your Gp can reffer you to a specialist from a private hospital, NHS will pay the costs of a surgery.
Ask your GP to reffer you.

You could try joining Benenden, they might be able to sort you out sooner.

If your in the union then ask a rep, they should be able to give you better advice. Not sure about ill health, but I think if they finish you on ill health you might find it hard to get another job.

Thats your decision but there is a process for appealing against IHR. Check out downloads for the agreement on IHR.
