I am all for the union but the latest 5-year deal what we had one of the main deals were hours to be reviewed every 6 months. This next deal is there going to be the same dodging of points there is not much future for part-time contract staff doing full-time hours every week and letting management use and abuse them because they know they need full-time hours. These lads have all stood by you my question is how are you going to look after your major part-time workforce who are struggling to get an increase in hours. I do believe part-time staff to get holiday pay regarding the hours worked but not exactly the point if there's hours there surely there should be a strong union point these lads to be made up 8 years service and 30hr contract here.

Same here. A strong argument has to be made on this point, many of Terry/Dave's members are in this position, working more hours than their contract is. It's deceitful of the company and not being addressed.

The agreements are there for your divisional and regional reps to use.
My office has a fantastic union and have had 20 people made up to full time in the past 18 months someone even had only 6 months seniority more to come im sure.
There’s no excuse to not be made up to full time if there’s hours in the office

Same as our office guys on 20hours for 5 years and get paid just 1.5;hours xtra a day for prepping own walk and then Dom not paying for breaks they are working so only get 27.5 hours per week yet work with ft or 31,5 hour guys! Totally agree nfair you then have ft guys coming in doing it’s early paid 2 hours ot per day and go home an hour early , The whole of rm on delivery needs to be looked at so people actually get paid the hours they workbigal383 wrote:They tell our union ifs an underperforming office yet 1000 hours a month is being booked on collections and o.t 8 years in and still p.t

I just don't get that they let the DOM get away with it, for goodness sake everyone of them should just stand together and take out a formal grievance against him. I had this issue once emailed the DOM and got it sorted, back paid for previous week and never happened again. In short term they could easily sort it out if he doesn't agree immediately- it's all voluntary overtime so all decline the offer for a couple of days, then he will be stuffed. Short term pain for long term gain.matthew68 wrote:Same as our office guys on 20hours for 5 years and get paid just 1.5;hours xtra a day for prepping own walk and then Dom not paying for breaks they are working so only get 27.5 hours per week yet work with ft or 31,5 hour guys! Won't say on here what I think about the DOM in this case! Sadly in Royal Mail you have to stand up for yourself.

they should drop all full time staff to 35 hours (with pay staying as is as a substitute for pay rise) and up all part timers to 35 hours. That sounds good in my book...

I agree and I hacpve told them as much but it seems they don’t want to rock the boat as Dom says he will up hours to permanently 30 hour contract from April 2018! Problem is he said that last year and these guys just aren’t standing together I have even asked Dom on there behalf to up hours and pay properly the ot , but there’s only so much you can do without them pushing themselves and until then Dom will keep getting away with ittelithowitis wrote:I just don't get that they let the DOM get away with it, for goodness sake everyone of them should just stand together and take out a formal grievance against him.
