Xmas arrangements

From what I've heard xmas arrangement talks in London have broken down, and an emergency meeting has been called.
Is it just London or all around the country?
Seems like RM doesn't want divisional or area reps involved, this shows that they are going to be sticking to their guns in national talks about getting rid of them.

xmas is coming????? its only mid November mate....you know royal mail....suddenly mid December they realise xmas is here.

sooooo I reckon you got a good 3 weeks yet before they put any ++ errrrr plans I think they call it ++ into operation...

well going on every year ive worked here that is.

Our Lino informed us there would be no Xmas casuals this year and they are relying on our goodwill.

Goodwill!!! Why should you go the extra mile for RM when they treat the posties so badly! Goodwill went out the window years ago!

We are still searching for casuals to help in our office as well. In fact we are definitely good will hunting!!!!

On a serious note any goodwill in our office evaporated very quickly once the high court judge shoved his beak into the unions affairs. We have several vacancies, the strong possibility of no extra vans, and the real prospect of the sick list going off the scale once December arrives!!. Chaos will reign that much is certain

Christmas Arrangements

Further to previous discussions on the subject of afternoon / evening delivery of parcels at
Christmas, and the overall Christmas Arrangements for 2017. There remain some key
differences between both parties and at this current time there is not an agreement in place.
In relation to the subject of afternoon / evening delivery of parcels the position remains that
volunteers will be sought from existing staff (Duty Holders & Reserves) within each Delivery
unit including both FT and PT employees.
Exceptionally where there is a shortfall of volunteers to move their duty attendance then units
may seek volunteers to undertake this work by offering:
 Less than full time employees the opportunity to perform full time hours undertaking
the later parcel delivery operation for the duration of the Christmas period.
 Scheduled Attendance, across the full week on a pre-scheduled basis and in line with
the existing contractual arrangements.
 A number of volunteers from neighbouring offices including both FT and PT employees.
Further developments will be reported via LTB’s to Branches in due course.
