Evr/job share

Any thoughts on the way forward on this issue,me and my mate are now the two seniors in our office,and desperate to have evr or a week on week off job share,everyday we voice this to the Dom,who doesn’t do a thing about it,we’re simply not fit for purpose anymore after 36years,it’s not the job for you anymore he tells us,should we simply contact his superior in an email to have our say on a serious note?just wondering what the long term plan for the Office vis no doubt to make more savings is up there with other issues,advice please

dont think theyre under any obligation to offer EVR. If you keep just doing what you can and its not seen as enough by the DOM it could force his hand into offering it.

Your DOM should hang his head in shame saying those things to you after all those years service,loyalty means nothing anymore.Good luck with evr.

Well the difference with EVR and IHR is not as much as you would think as if you have been working for 36 years you possibly would be over 55 then RM take most of the EVR away so six months pay and a pension or IHR and wait till 60 for 25% less or 65 for full pension entitlement. Max EVR is 104 weeks but you may only get 26 weeks depending on age where as IHR is 34 weeks plus PILON 12 weeks so 46 weeks pay! And EVR is as rare as horse s**t from a rocking horse and may pay tax if over £30,000 so what would you do as for job shares all of our's have gone now!

i work 3 days the other person 2 and the original day off cover is covered by a reserve that originally did the cover so it has not affected the reserves job if that makes sense we are on a 6 week rota the same as the full time job was in the last resign if that makes sense hope you get it sorted it suits us as we can also swap days with each other if we need to

Many thanks for that input,it’s most welcome,am sure our boss doesn’t think we are serious,hasn’t taken it on board at all,getting bored with him now,just tired of this job on a full time basis
