Atos question

After 2 weeks off sick, summoned to a meeting and now refered to atos, from the day of being refered to atos how long is it before they are in contact, been told atos may want to see medical records is this common pratice?

There is no issue with letting them see medical records but wouldn't want managers knowing my every medical details.

Atos may want your medical records but without your permission they can do diddly squat.Your a bit vague on why you have been referred after just two weeks off.

Your referral to Atos ( Now OH Assist) would have had to be with your consent. You will be given a day and time so that you are able to take their 20minute telephone assessment. RM has due to costings involved HR services as apposed to OH Assist but whoever made the referral should advise you the day and time of contact so that you are available.
In relation to your medical records which again has to be given your consent you can instruct your GP that OH Assist can be given the medical information that refers to the medical condition which the referral covers..

Unless you have consented to Atos being contacted then ignore any contact from them and keep going to see your own doctor

Write a letter to your DOM stating that you'll comply with all OH Assist requests, in the hope of conquering your terrible injury. Drop it on his desk with a fresh one month sick note.

If you don't want your manager to know the details you are within your rights to refuse access by OH Assist (ATOS) though of course, that will have implications as they will not be fully informed. However, you can grant OH Assist access to your Medical records but refuse to allow your manager any access to any details about your condition. This comes under your statutory rights under the Data Protection act, and Medical Records access as well.
