Did anyone else notice that little nugget hidden at the end of the usual fob off reply to a uniform question?
"We are investigating a purchase scheme (for) colleagues to buy extra uniform items if desired"
In other words:
Year 1 - allocation stays the same as now, manager can approve extra as now, any more BUY YOURSELF
Year 2 - allocation stays the same as now (no discretion for manager to get you more), any more you BUY YOURSELF
Years 3 - 5 allocation goes down each year, any more you BUY YOURSELF

Of course when they launch this 'innovative' scheme, there will be no mention of the inevitable that will follow.

They reckon a pair of shoes should last 6 months but youre lucky if you get 3 months.

The new type trainer with the Michelin sole are garbage .Ive had them about 6 weeks,the sole is 3/4 worn and shoe is splitting.

Whoever sanctioned these must walk on their hands.

love it....always thought that to every question...they always shoot down the sender......wellll till I read that maybe they'll add a sweatshirt/jumper to a discussion group...that's near as youll get to backing the question LOL

I agree that the letter writer is usually put down or the question could be a company plant gaining a positive response.

The comment suggesting we can open our zipped fleece is laughable but surely if we are to purchase uniform we can choose supplier too?

Courier binned wuthin 30 seconds of opwning, that's 30 seconds exposure more when it was 100% propoganda recently. A s+++e rag that is on a par with the Express.

Could it be that the less "managers" spend on uniforms within their office a percentage goes toward their bonus,
i would hope not but it would explain why some"managers" only authorise two or three shirts at a time instead
of a full allocation in my office, the argument about 5 day week = 5 shirts wearing out at the same time is met
with a blank look, but then thats nothing unusual .

Managers can't authorise anything, orders get authorised by some regional manager, who could still in theory cancel orders placed by your manager

If I'm going to buy uniform I will not be buying the crap that they provide, I will be demanding greater choice,quality and better value for money.
