Colleague has All the overtime

A worker in my office is mopping up every bit of overtime and no one else can get a look in. Even with the 30hour overtime limit he does well over 60 hours a week. To get past this limit he asks he's friend to put the overtime in there wages! But because the office is so desperate the dom just looks past this. Surely this can't be right

Think he’s winding you up there’s no way he’s getting it put in someone else’s wage pretty sure no manager would risk there job doing that

if anyone else wants share of ot it has to be rotated to give everyone equal oppertunities

Reckon he's winding you up, there's no way a manager would give himself unnecessary extra work/risk to contend with.

Oh yeah bet he's a runner bragging about getting £xxx for doing an extra full walk on o/t etc !

Next time i get threatend with my job for cutting off I may have to bring this up

I'm almost certain there isn't a 30 hour limit on overtime. There's part-time colleagues in my local office(s) that are on contracts of as low as I think 8 hours, some odd weeks throughout the year though they are asked if they'd like to cover someone's duty for the week & if they do it they're comfortably over 30 hours of OT. Doesn't have any effect on me so I don't really care.

If someone is getting all the overtime ahead of you & you want some, have you tried telling the manager/DOM that you're looking to do some?

there is no limit on overtime but there is a limit on the amount of hours one person can work.

70 hours is a maximum before it gets flagged up and stopped.

except for December when we can work whatever hours we want!

The total hours limit is 70 (or 69) so for a full timer it would be 30 hours. A part timer on 8 hours could do about 61 hours overtime.

how can the office be desperate and only 1 person seems willing to do the OT ? it doesnt make sense to me. If the office is struggling surely the more people who are willing to do OT the better for them.
