The political levy pays for more than the Labour Party affiliation. Whichever party is in in government we need to campaign and lobby for any number of causes. Withdrawing completely from the levy will not help in disaffiliating from the Labour Party - Conference will decide that. But if a union has no political fund it can't do any political campaigning - full-stop. Maybe people should write in and ask that none of their levy is used to support the labour party rather than withdrawing completely.
Just a thought.

Just a thought.

It's a good thought. I opted out years ago because I didn't want that shower of hospital closing, school shutting, baby bombers to get a single penny from me if I could help it. But, it there was a way to guarantee the Labour Party wouldn't get anything, I would opt back in again.red123 wrote:The political levy pays for more than the Labour Party affiliation.
