Yet another holiday question!!

Post by Steve32ford »

Hi
I need advise!
I have nearly a months worth of leave due!! Some down cause of sickness and
some that was 'carried over' I ve been told I can carry 5 days over and have
filled out request forms but weeks that I was after they're short staffed! Been
offered Jan/Feb/march time I would rather either be paid/carry some over
as I don t really want to be off that time of year! There was spaces earlier in
year but not informed of them!
Do I just have to 'put it down to experience ' or is there a process I can go down?!

You can carry more than 5 days over if that is what you and your DOM agree to do.
It doesn't mean you will get any better holidays than what they are offering now though.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I spoke to him and said 5days at a push 10 as he has got weeks still available!
There were others earlier in the year but I was not made aware of them
I had asked him for a list of available dates a good 6 weeks ago but also never got them
so am now very limited on choice!
Any help /advise appreciated
Thanks

Do you mean you never got the list? Get the rep to help.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Yes not till now!! It's alright quoting dates that were available after the event but
not helpful! Have asked the rep but he says if spaces still available take them or lose them
sort of thing!

Carry over 5 and have a nice holiday with the rest. You can take a chance with 10 days carried over but I would get it in writing would be my advice. Remember the law states the company can choose when you have holiday
