Blocking of annual leave slots.

Hi.
Does anybody have any problems in their DO when it comes to their annual leave pick regarding the blocking off of particular weeks, primarily school half term weeks.
It's been a constant problem here and we're told different reasons every time.

Ask to go through the calenderisation work aid, only weeks that auto block are 37 - 40.
Straight to disagreement if I where you as any other reason is bollox.

just got my leave list weeks 33 & 35 to 41 inclusive are blocked

He is trying it on, whole of November !! REALLY......ask him why he has blocked it manually....laugh at him then ask has he opened cells elsewhere by closing those? Laugh some more while writing your disagreement in front of him.
Dec 25/26 of course but the rest of the week should be open.

Last week December & New year weeks always go 1st for us.

Have looked into this a bit further... Our office does not seem to pick leave with the same format as others. From what I can gather is that we should be given a annual leave request form to put our dates on and we are slotted in accordingly as long as space dictates. Unfortunately this is where the rule book disappears out of the window for us as we are still working on seniority. It does change from year to year i.e. top to bottom then bottom to top for the picks to give each end of the list a better pick than the year before.
The holiday chart is basically 52 weeks in excel format and we go in and pick a week that is free when it comes to our turn. This is where we find various random weeks have been blocked out with no apparent pattern. For example there could be 6 slots to choose from one week but come half term week 3 of those may be blocked out so 50% less space to go at.
