48hrs notice of change of duty

Could someone please confirm that I am entitled to 48hrs notice of a change of assigned duty. Am sure will be asked to go on another walk on the day without prior notice of change.

I dont think what you're asking for is realistically possible as people don't give 48 hrs notice to call in sick.

Even 48 minutes notice would be unusual, in my experience.

If you're talking about change of hours though, that is different. They do need to give proper notice of that. Longer than 48 hrs tho I believe.

Spoke with union rep. It may not be realistically possible but it is in fact a agreement between cwu and rm and one which I will insist on. I'm an employee with rights not a zero hour contract how high shall I jump yes man.

It's on everyone's 318, that reads something like "or as directed"

'Or as directed' - that means that they CAN just move you as and when required though, its not what he was wanting to hear.

Many times people are moved around at the last minute - I've known someone been made to change duty even after they'd bundled it up, bagged up all the drop bags and loaded the bike (this was a while ago).

They weren't happy, but the 'or as directed' rule was valid even back then.
