RM claim that an independent company done a survey, asking customers if they were okay with later deliveries..
(In fact according to RM they demanded it...yeh right)
Does anyone on here know anyone who took part in this?
was anyone on here asked? (Remember we are all customers)
Have the union challenged this, have they seen the proof?
In my office after a change of duties, where some firms duties were removed, at least five solicitors were complaining they were getting their mail too late in the day and demanded that they get it at the time they were getting it before.
(it was approximately 1 hour later, around mid day), managers responded by telling them to pay for a timed delivery, which costs about 3500 pound a year.

Never known ANY Company to ask for their mail later.
Many, as yours, have demanded that they get theirs earlier. Ironically most of these Businesses are being run from home, often on Rural duties, and are in the back of beyond.
I'll normally say, "Well if you hired an industrial unit on the local business park you'd have a dedicated Business Delivery that would deliver your mail early". Then you'll normally get the old, "Can't you deliver my mail first before everyone else's" You just can't win.

It's just the same as
"Don't give YOUR customers a reason to say NO to Royal Mail
Overwhelming majority of people who had an opinion - and most did - said they would choose another delivery company if there is a strike at Royal Mail
We know. You know. Asked an independent pollster to check this out. It's a fact."
Firstly the "independent pollster", assuming there is one, should have been named.
Secondly if appointed by, and paid for by, Royal Mail the pollster is unlikely to be "independent".
Thirdly "Asked an independent pollster to check this out" is tantamount to admitting they told the pollster the result they were seeking.
Fourthly we should be given a percentage not just the vague "Overwhelming majority".
I am confident that most of us receiving that as one of a near daily postcards will have realised those failings in what we were told.
Did Royal Mail really think we would take all that propaganda hook, line and sinker ?
And did they really not realise how counter productive it became the more and more of it we received ?
And, finally, after the strike will Royal Mail realise that the Courier is finished as a means of communicating with its employees ?

We have a solicitor's office on my shared van duty who currently receive their mail between 11 and 11.30am....we often don't even start delivering until 10.30am. It would be an understatement indeed to say they were perturbed and concerned when I mentioned to them RM's intention of retarding the operation by (at least) 2 hours.

"It's a fact" is a blatant give away that it is a lie/bluff/bollocks.

In practise it would be at least 2 and a half to three hours as the lorries doing the runs to DOs will get caught up in all the commuter trafficOzzvaldo wrote:RM's intention of retarding the operation by (at least) 2 hours.

Royal Mail and it's managers are experts in using third party influence to make you feel uncomfortable. When I refused to bow down to the demands of a manager to flex up, I was told that many of my colleagues thought that I was being unreasonable. No names, just that it was many. It is a well known con trick of present day management to coerce you in to doing things that they have no recognised agreement that will substantiate their demands.
