Busy day for a monday

Anyone else had a really busy day, had so much stuff come through for a Monday, hope tomorrow a bit better

going to get heavier. schools gone back. xmas looming. still going to need lapsing.

We also have 6 door to doors on a round that nobody signed for in the whole office of around 200 posties. 2 early starting runners were previously on it so they 'revised' it for 2 part timers on a half 7 start with nothing prepped.
Who calculates these timings...

Always the same, ''Autumn Pressure'' hits the first week in September regular as clockwork and the volumes of junk mail shoot up, never really understood what the marketing thinking behind it is.

they threw all the d2d in our lapsed walk,,,then found the mail was higher than the model traffic LOL so we didn't lapse.

smallish office 40 walks approx......"computer says" all sorted by 815.......at 830 we cut off the primary and left 4 yorks full of mail....LOL

pity its gunna be a heavy Tuesday as well

lots of mail left in frames today on lapsed walks that weren't taken out as people cut off their own rounds including tracked items.
We also had 5 Yorks carried over of unsorted Junk mail.
7 D2D's and not thrown a letter off before 7.20am after starting off at 6.15am and IPS from 6.30 till 7.00am and 7.30 till 8.00am
How the hell can you be bagged up at 8.30am to give you any chance of completing. Absolutely no chance of doing lapsing but refuse to go over.
We have 2 P/T staff doing double rounds getting roughly 70 hours a week, what happens when they break down.

It was very quiet in our office. My walk which is one of the bigger ones. Had average monday mail and about 15 knock on packets and two oversize which was for the same house.

Came in this morning, 5 households, a pile of split mail trays, two trays of sequence... ahem, gaffer, no lapsing today... "how no?" HA HA HA. Came back at 2.30 and the mail for the lapsed walk was still in frame! If some sod volunteered to take it out on OT, he'll be crucified tomorrow!

this is the problem with lapsing - they use office figures to determine how busy it is that day. On that basis they think x amount of lapsing should be able to be done. Now, over an office this could well be the case, but what it doesnt take into account is the high variance of work between all the many different duties.
