Hi. Been signed off for 8 weeks with my GP suggesting a referral to O.H assessment, to assess return to work.
Manager not happy, saying there is no prognosis by doctor for recovery or what I should be able to do, with amended duties and such. And that I don't have enough information to warrant a referral.
I thought that was what O.H do? Have not heard back from him, so don't know if he has referred me or not. I thought the process was 8 weeks signed off by GP, with O.H referral then taking place, then back to work plan with O.H to kick in after 8 weeks? He's making things very difficult and I don't know why. Seems to me like he is coming up with excuses to justify not referring me?
Will phone tomorrow and ask, but would appreciate going in with an educated mind.

I'm very rarely off sick never mind long term, I don't know what the procedures are. I think he is being awkward so I don't have it on record as having the injury in case O.H give me specific amended duties. He's a very bitter man who takes everything personally, which is why I'm thinking he is acting the way he is.

If I were you I'd go over manager's head and contact HR. It's your health no-one else's. Who's gonna give a f**k about you and your family in years to come if you don't get the proper care now and it causes problems with your health in old age.
