When is a Tracked not a Recorded delivery??

Initially, RM's purpose for Tracked items was that it had a barcode that we scanned to suggest as proof that we had delivered the item. Then we started getting Tracked items that needed a signature - does the customer pay extra for this? I only ask because I have started getting a few Tracked items that clearly state "no signature" and when scanned actually do require a signature - which is funny when you have to knock on the customers door again after heading down the path!

As for the ones that state "Signature" and don't need a signature at all could have our customers ringing up customer services to ask why it was given without signing for.

don't think they pay extra for a tracked signature as I had a woman phone up and complain that I hadn't posted her letter. when I told the dom that it was a tracked signed for (and not to be delivered to a neighbour) so I needed a signature, he said she was raving on saying it would go through her letterbox and she hadn't requested or paid extra for a signature. dom said I was following instructions on the letter and was correct in returning it to the office. half of these signed for tracked fail for those exact reasons. if they haven't paid or asked for a signature and if it will go through the letterbox, then WHY the hell can't we just post it and save redelivery or them coming to collect it?

Do as the PDA says like a good little robot.

Do not listen to recipients.

Do not believe what your eyes report on the packaging.

Do not let your squishy human brain interfere with the connection between the PDA and your hands.

That is the way of thinking I now use.

You could use the same argument for Special or Recorded Deliveries.
If the person who has sent it wants a signature at delivery then a signature on delivery is what they expect.

If requiring a signature on delivery didn't cost more then why wouldn't everyone be using it?

probably because they know it will get delivered either way.
