Compassionate/Special Leave, Paid or Unpaid?

Post by DavidSPowell »

Hi all,

I've looked through the Special Leave Policy, but am a little confused as to where my current situation would fall under this.
My wife is currently in intensive care, and I'd like to know what type of paid or unpaid leave I am untitled too, I'll be calling my Line Manager later but I'd like to know before hand where I stand on this.

Thanks.

Compassionate/Special Leave, Paid or Unpaid?

It is ultimately down to the discretion of your manager.
1 - 3 days paid leave if you are lucky.
Going sick is the only way to ensure you still get paid.

I hope it works out for you.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Agreed you need to go sick with stress which no doubt you are. Or you will be once you try to get special paid leave from a Dom.

I sincerely hope your wife makes a speedy recovery.
