It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

" We are not going to take 3 days loss of sick pay from you " - You have won that back!!! Cheeky bastards, we never lost it in the first place.
Weekly pay to monthly pay is f**k all and means nothing!
What about pay, pensions, terms and conditions - Oh we're still going to shaft you on that...............

No they won't.hans solo wrote:they will come for sick pay and monthly pay the following year
It was never a serious proposal in the first place because it united the workforce, it was put in there for precisely the reason it was taken out, to make it look like royal mail have moved position and given ground. That puts the ball in the union's court. The problem the union has is that it's taken away a major "win" when the dust settles. To me it looks like they're more interested in making the union look redundant and splitting the staff than negotiating a viable future for the business.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

What exactly is the proposal about new start and finish times ? Because me, and just about everyone in my office do not want 10-6.
It's a massive change to work life balance on top of the h&s issues that go with it.

Can every postal worker refuse to accept 10-6 and could Royal Mail enforce it.

There's no way you can deliver letters for three hrs in the dark, in December. Oh yeah, December, so a 6pm finish would be more like 7 or 8........ there's gonna be much cut offs to deal with methinks.Darren Bent wrote:Can every postal worker refuse to accept 10-6 and could Royal Mail enforce it.

Probably staff the whole delivery part with students as they do f**k all 10 to 6 most of the year but their will be reliability issues as they cannot be arsed maybe royalmail will take their debt and press gang them into working as with anything I had managers fresh from university and ran rings around them!Pidleypoo wrote:I'd like to know how rm think that this is in anyway workable?rambo1 wrote:There's no way you can deliver letters for three hrs in the dark, in December. It's many many years since students were employed on Christmas delivery and that's about as likely to return as a second delivery daily.k979aaa wrote:Probably staff the whole delivery part with students as they do f**k all 10 to 6 most of the year but their will be reliability issues as they cannot be arsed maybe royalmail will take their debt and press gang them into working as with anything I had managers fresh from university and ran rings around them!Pidleypoo wrote:I'd like to know how rm think that this is in anyway workable?rambo1 wrote:There's no way you can deliver letters for three hrs in the dark, in December. It is definitely worrying and a smart move by RM. There is a good chance of a strike ballot not getting the majority it needs which would be an absolute disaster so I can't see it happening now. Many people are now confused as to what RM are taking from us and what the union actually want (try £4k per year off my pension). The whole propaganda machine of RM is working great, many people think the company is in troubled times and needs to make savings - this is not true.
No investment has come from the private sector.
£700M per year was written off from the pension deficit.
The pda/van share modernisation which was previously paid for is now nearing completion.
Part time vs full time ratio has changed dramatically with low pension contribution from new starters.
Dividend payments top RM profits and pension contributions.
.... and yet we are still making the same £350M ish per year profit.
It's all paper bollocks.

So if this has been taken off the table ,why has it been put in the agreement that they are going to review it within one month of signing the agreement and then conclude this process within 3 months? (page 5 of the agreement)
And more sinister what joint work was carried out last year regarding the attendance procedure?
