I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

The reason RM is the best employer in the industry with the best pay and terms is because of the CWU's involvement over the years. Bit of an own goal pushing that line I would have thought? :wave

The union wants to promote and support growth in the business which will secure our jobs for the future, but at the same time we should be rewarded with a fair and decent wage, not seeing vast profits being routed towards the shareholders instead.

It's not really a decision at the end of the day, support the union and get a fair representation.

No pay rise for anyone this year. The one in four employees with legacy allowances will lose them. Hundreds less in pension payments a year.

It's hard to spin that.

Let's work together...that's a joke in poor taste. When was the last time anyone felt part of a team in this job? The business has been cutting costs for more than 10 years now using the same pessimistic language to justify the cut to the bone mentality and it's taken its toll on staff morale. I think even senior management have given up on growing and evolving the company, that's the danger of constant negativity, it's contagious.

Show us something new RM, something like a positive plan for the future that we really can "work together" on, not the same old manage the decline, cut terms and conditions and we might just scrape along the bottom for another few years thing. I'm not working together for that.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

There will be a whole new meaning to "working together" if RM's plan to make us cover absences with no overtime pay comes into force! :silenced

They will never be able to enforce unpaid OT
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

Overtime won't exist as we know it, you will get your delivery to do in your salary hours be it quick or slow
If you get the office sick note in your team you will have the pleasure of there workload everytime they fancy a day at the races or the match

ownership of duties is what RM may want but i think its one of the top things that the union would never let pass. And if you think you could get a duty rush around it everyday, finish 1 hour + early and RM wont look to add to it then youve had your head buried in the sand the past few years.

I was rerfering to to the fact that they want rid of the overtime bill , what there saying is if your too slow your not handing back and nobody else is getting docket for handbacks, the early finish carrott makes no odds to me
