Have been down in hours now for about 5 to 6 weeks started with the odd hour and is now up to 8 and half hours and keep asking to be payed my arrears and every week I get yes will be in your wages next week we'll to be honest I'm sick of asking now I am expected to work my day off nearly every week which I don't mind doing but I do when I'm not getting payed union rep in office has asked on my behalf but got nowhere any advice on what I should do next would be great full thinking of refusing to work my day off this week until I get payed

Use the grievance procedure.
Highlight further up the food chain the incompetence of your manager.
S/He won't like it. You will get paid.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Refusing over time, as it's voluntary, would be the next logical step.

After that you could put in a grievance and start down the Employment Tribunal trail.

Or failing that there are websites that do templates for unpaid work letters that generally scare managers.
