Do you have faith in the Royal Mail board?
Do you have faith in the Royal Mail Board to grow the business?
Given all of the board are from private sector companies, are they actually interested in Royal Mail? I personally don't think so and I think the facts speak for themselves for the lack of innovation and imagination when it comes to new products and services. They have nothing new offer except cut, cut and cut. Chipping away at our pension pot to pay dividends means no new money is coming in, a vital warning of the direction these people are pushing the company.
The up and coming industrial action is fully justified and needs to happen and we need to hit shareholders in the pocket before someone says "get this sorted".
Adding to this, IF you do have faith then explain your reasons for this.

Absolutely no faith what so ever.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, it takes a special kind of incompetence and ineptitude for a CEO and board to piss off both the employees AND the share holders of a company, yet our glorious leaders have achieved that, and some.

They should be looking to expand and grow the business to make more money not the current method changing things and cutting too much, they didn't look at cutting cost in management and white collars workers instead of focusing on cutting postal workers from mail centre to delivery.

Easy to criticise the board and very popular to do so, but the board are not there to be popular. They are charged with putting the company on a sound commercial footing and taking the company forward. Their extensive private sector knowledge is welcome even if it will be sneered at by the union barons and their members.
Tough times lie ahead and it will require a ruthless, hard-headed approach to get Royal Mail into the best possible commercial shape to take on the challenges our industry faces.
Industrial action may be voted for. It may even happen. It will not, however, reap any benefits for those so eager to throw the company and their jobs over the cliff.

So you agree and have faith in the board. What are your reason for this - where have you seen new money, products and growth and future growth to increase revenues?SierraOscarBravo wrote:Easy to criticise the board and very popular to do so, but the board are not there to be popular. They will just grab what the can for themselves leave this company in ruins and move on to their next target. They don,t give a toss about the customers or the workers.

You'll be waiting a long time for this troll idiot to give you a satisfactory answer to that question.
The amount of products and services we offer customers has increased. Our tracked products are hugely important. The investment in PDAS that capture enormous amounts of tracking data, delivery methods equipment such as lightweight trolleys and HCTs are just a few areas where investment has been made.
Too many on here just want to be negative all the time instead of appreciating the positive improvements that have and continue to be made.

ditching the bikes for vans is a pretty good improvement !osgoody1970 wrote:so SOB, what improvements do you see for the postperson of the future??? no sick pay, no pay rise? bullying managers, unjust delivery spans? unrealistic performance standards?, tell what improvements you would make to improve the life of the postal delivery person in the future???
Maybe the CWU keep putting a spanner in the wheel as alas improvements - technology - will result in job losses.
Improvements would be an end to job and finish.
What other employer will pay someone 8 hours for 7 hours work and the next day pay that someone an hours overtime if they go over by an hour.
2 days work - 16 hours worked - 17 hours paid. CRAZY !

New PDA's? That's really the best you can come up with?SierraOscarBravo wrote:If you have something worthwhile to contribute to the discussion, then please let's hear it.wacko74 wrote:Phantom wrote:So you agree and have faith in the board. Considering how obsolete the old bricks were they had literally no choice but to introduce new PDA's... which incidentally, still have many flaws, hardware, software and network capacity issues.
As I've already mentioned, I think you'll find there's even more ''negativity'' from shareholders towards the current CEO and board than there is from the workforce.

I have no faith in RM board what so ever, it's a shame this isn't put out to the media for discussion on how RM bully and manipulate workers screw them over with pensions and how we are pretty much at breaking point ready to strike.
I don't know how anyone can grow a business when replacing those who will be retiring with new starters on poor pay terms when we all do the same job? Surely people will not want to join the company based on that.
Let alone work the 9-5 especially on Saturdays, I for one think RM is a sinking ship, they claim they look out for the customers but by delivering later I can see that annoying the customer as most of mine like their mail early doors.
I am happily going to strike.

Most residential people actually don't give a monkeys what time they receive their mail and if you asked people what time they received their mail they wouldn't know as they are out of the house all day.Gangham_style14 wrote:I have no faith in RM board what so ever, it's a shame this isn't put out to the media for discussion on how RM bully and manipulate workers screw them over with pensions and how we are pretty much at breaking point ready to strike.

A lot of people want to receive the parcels quickly.
They would rather receive their parcels Next Day at 6pm than a day later at 10AM.
Who likes their mail earlier ?????????????
Stuck in the mud pensioners ?
Who else gives a monkeys ?
