Our manager says we are going for one plan in our office and we must now clear our frames before we go out on delivery i.e. No d2ds in frame and all dead mail killed off, he says from next week we must do 1 sixth a day and take even without mail! Is that s correct as most posties throw all off on Monday and Tuesday and take where going and by sat almost all gone, it seems crazy just delivering leaflets especially as we struggle to get back on time now! Plus we have some long drive ways , do we really have to take them all with us it seems a waste of time, I had disagreement with him about it and he. says if I don't do it he will start disciplinary proceedings lol!

We are going through "one plan" in our office and all the cr@p that it involves but thankfully for now at least we are allowed to continue with take where your going but must be cleared by Saturday.
We're all here because we're not all there

Pretty sure "one plan" hasn't been agreed between the CWU and Royal Mail....
Should be doing 1/6th day D2D'S anyway - well that's what the IWT is based on.

Last I heard, there is no nationally agreed method of doing D2D, beyond each applicable address gets its D2D by Saturday at the latest.

Prepping 1/6th per day will even out indoor time, but delivering all 1/6th per day will inevitably mean lots of "cold calling" through the week, especially on Tuesdays, which means more time and more likely to need over-running procedure.

whats your problem with that ? , we put our allocated d2ds colums in on the day , mon 2 , tues 1 , weds 1, thurs 1 , fri 1 sat 1 , and we take the lot clear frame daily as we don't have the chance to get all in within 2 days and clear within the week and why would yer ? and we don't start early and do the job right , and our frames are nearly all double slots 1600 calls btw us and out btw 6 - 7 hrs , there classed as 1st class mail and if you cant get done on time you have 2 options , take it back or claim the o/t , simple. no lapsing .

.....and less lapsing. Especially on Tuesday. Think it's up to the individual how they do it. But indoor work tool is based on 1/6th being done every day.

Snap same at our office . Any item in a delivery frame is classed as " live mail " and must be taken or dissaplinery action is taken

It seems a waste of time to me but I guess if that's what they want, it just means I will cut off when it's heavy which I do sometimes anyway just now it could be more!

management quite often distribute ours to frames so do we have to take 100% on the monday :left: and more than often they throw them into lapsed walks even though it won't be going out

I've heard some on here say they put ALL their D2Ds in on Monday, and do them throughout the week to doors they are going to. how the hell anybody has time for that is beyond me.. I double prep mine and my partners duty before he comes in at 8.50 on Monday. if I had say 3 sets, that would mean throwing in 927 x 3 on mine alone, so I would be prepping 2,781 d2ds BEFORE I even put a letter in the frame. then my partners duty is 1035. so theres another 3,105. they are both double slotted frames so when you pull your letters out its going to be a right faff. even if we just had one set its just too much to do. a 1/6th is enough per day as far as i'm concerned.

Think they mean after they finish. Some posties still have luxury of finishing early on Sat or Mon. And some still have single slots. How much time they actually save over the week is anyone's guess.

There is one guy in our office who throws the whole lot in sat when he finishes and delivers whole lot on Monday! And when he is on holiday he comes in n on Saturday and does the same! It's comple bonkers and its people like him who ruin it for others who do job properly, he's in about hour early every day yet finishes about half hour early!
