Special after 1pm

Okay so I had a special I tried getting rid of at about 11ish customer weren't in so I submitted it as no answer on the PDA at about 1.15 the customer found me with his ID and begged for the special he went to the post office first and it was an important special so I rang my colleague and they said it was alright to do it so I scanned it again but will that count as a fail because it was after 1pm?

No, it won't count as a failure as you stopped the clock when you 1st scanned it. You did everything right, except you gave mail out to someone on the street, you should have told the customer to go home and that you will go to them with the item. Never hand mail out to anyone in the street even with ID

If anything comes of it, tell them you went back to the customers house after the customer collared you in the street!
And DON'T do it again!

All ok fella! what sometimes happens also is if you re route for a special , you sometimes pass the property on the way back to the office and the people are then in , you've cleared the special and the people are happy!

Guy had the card and ID, seems fair enough to me.

And no to answer the question. I broke off today as I had a special at the end, 739'd it then took it back round with the post after 1 by which time they'd returned.

Don't worry,no one will say anything,it's only an issue if the customer complains, which is highly unlikely in your situation.

So long as you took the card off him you'll be fine...people will go up the office even though they know full well they have the item.

Thanks everyone for the replies I haven't had a phoencall from the boss and the man seemed genuine happy that I did it for him the lady at the post office said I have nothing to worry about too so all good

I know your not supposed to do this but if you are running late with a special and you really wont make 1pm, say if you forgot and it got to 12.55 (not that anyone would) then scan it just before 1pm as not delivered then it wont fail. There is no reason anyone should miss a 1pm delivery unless they forgot but I always keep them seperate in a tray and write a list which is kept at the front of the van.

Doing this, and the managers get wind of it WILL see you sacked. Plenty of people come to our office to chance their arm denying receipt of parcels they do get. If they receive one with "Guaranteed by 1pm" wrote on it, and it's 10/15 mins after they sure as hell will chance their arm complaining hoping for some free compo. Managers can tell how many times a barcode has been scanned/exactly where it was scanned.

What if a specials scanned at 1.05 pm would the dom make a big deal of that ?
