Amazon Special Delivery

Hi, we work in an area that still delivers Amazon parcels. Recently we have seen a massive increase in these items coming through as SD parcels, in the past we might only get 40-50 SD's but now that has risen to around 150-200 !!!!
The problem we have is space as our locker is only about 2m x 2m, some mornings it's just ridiculous trying to scan and sort plus serve customers at the same time (only one person works in our locker at a time). We did ask the Dom about scanning and sorting elsewhere but he is adamant that they have to be done in the locker for security reasons. Has any other office out there faced similar problems?

What area u deliver to we lost Amazon years ago, we only get the odd Special or sometimes a scanned item but very rare in our locker which is a medium sized office with about 500 to 600 items sometimes we only have 1 or 2 Amazon parcels on the shelfs.

Similar situation in my office, lots of SD`s (just few from Amazon) and when it`s busy in there, one of the posties goes and serves the customers for 20-30 minutes instead of IPS or prepping walks, He`s paid anyway for that time.

Maybe we still get all the Amazon work in rural areas but Amazon deliver it themselves in rural areas where they can do it cheaply.

We still get small packets from Amazon. Usually ones that are 'delivered scanned' and go straight through letter box.

Office is about 45miles north of Aberdeen. Amazon have a distribution depot in Aberdeen but only deliver to the city and a few outlying towns. Just seems strange that they are using the SD service. I don't believe for one minute that they are being charged the same rate as other lower volume businesses. The issue for us however is space, god knows what's going to happen at Christmas

"what's going to happen at Christmas" is the manager's problem, not yours.

- especially if you're on strike.
