Reasonable Notice for hours of work.

As per my contract, my hours of work are allocated and can be changed with reasonable notice. Now,bearing in mind this would also cover my day off, can anyone tell me what "reasonable notice" is ? Finding out on a Friday that your day off the following week is Monday (for that week) surely isn't reasonable notice. Any thoughts

I may be wrong but don't they only need to give 24hrs notice if they plan to change your day off?

Your manager will more than likely have about 6 weeks worth of Rotas planned. Our union rep made sure we have the next 2 weeks on show (although days off and duties may change depending on sickness and leave)

4 weeks, don't make me laugh, it's supposed to be six weeks. At our office you're lucky if they're done for Monday morning.

Your rep 'should' be having weekly resource meetings, rotas 'should' be known at least a couple of weeks in advance, reserves 'should' not have to wait until the last day of the week to know their duty/day off, barring sickness there 'should' not be a problem for it to run smoothly , reps 'should' along with the other duty holders who have regular days off make sure that in the interest of fairness that everything works as smooth as possible.

There are a lot of 'should's in Royal Mail...
