Wages short

Never had an issue with wages before but am short this week, overtime is correct but my contract hours are short. Asked wages and they saying it's nothing our end contact HR? Surelly this is not right?

Secondly I was off Monday as my son was ill. No return to work on Tuesday infact no mention of it until my Lino pulled me aside on Thursday to say ive been docked a day's pay. Is this normal?

Are your contracted hours short of the Monday that you were absent, if you didn't get payed it bear in mind it's only overtime etc that are payed a week in arrears.

wages are run on Tuesday - so if you were off Monday, and it was unpaid then that will be the difference - wages are paid for the week you are on - overtime is a week behind

as far as I know when absence is for a child's illness this is always unpaid - unless it is an emergency which requires hospital treatment - in which case the first day will be paid

They have obviously given you a days unpaid leave for Monday.

I don't mind it being unpaid, the fact they don't even inform you of that decision with an explanation that bothers me.
