Stream to lapse

If I refuse to stream my delivery so I can take lapsing will I be in trouble??

Does it really matter? if you are working your hours either way!

I am not aware of any joint national agreement between RM & the CWU regarding the streaming of mail!

Inform either your local rep or local CWU branch of the situation.

RM are bound by the USO to deliver all mails to every address six days a week!

Dear Colleagues,

During the recent ADR briefings the subject of ‘Streaming or Skimming’ of mail was raised by a number of reps and subsequently raised by me at the NDG. Royal Mail’s response was that they were unaware of it and it was only anecdotal, they needed firmer ‘evidence’. Therefore could reps please supply the dept via email with any instances where this has occurred or is occurring, naming the office and the manager of the office and how frequently this has occurred, and how the streaming actually occurs. In some cases the decision of what not to deliver has been left to OPGs which in itself is unacceptable. In other instances it forms part of absorption/lapsing where an OPG is taken off a delivery to allow others to absorb the delivery by only delivering the 1c and leaving everything else in the frame.

Your urgent attention and response to this request would be greatly appreciated.

If Royal Mail attempt to push ahead with proposals outside of what is outlined and contained within the National joint statement and agreed guidelines then our Representatives must pursue breaches via the IR Framework.

Any mail sorted up on IPS to the delivery has to be taken any cannot be streamed

They did it twice last week but if it happens this week I will inform them I will b concentrating on my own and if they would like me to stream I will need it in writing and signed by the dom!

I colleage of mine contacted " Moyas " team about this and was told to take a photo of any mail left in your frame and send it to them

Selectively delivering certain streams of mail.

We get different streams at their most basic 1st Class, 2nd Class, DSA, Mail Sort - there are others but they are the main ones.

There was a LTB or joint statement released in Feb I think, not sure if it was to do with this specifically or reporting of failures generally. It said the evidence could be photographed and sent up, but not shared with anyone outside of royal mail
